Elvis Presley cutting his cousin Gene Smith’s hair on the set of Hal Kanter’s 1957 film ‘ Loving You ‘ ….not James Dean’s hair misunderstood by many.

Presley wore his iconic early rockabilly red and white Western styled ‘ Teddy Bear ‘ outfit from the film ‘ Loving You ‘ designed with influence from Nudie Cohn and supervised by Edith Head. This outfit contributed to the popularisation of Western-influenced fashion among youth in the 1950s, helping establish the rock-and-roll aesthetic.

In ‘ Loving You ‘, Elvis Presley’s second motion picture, he performed ‘ ( Let Me Be Your ) Teddy Bear ‘ soundtrack which became number one hit during the summer of 1957 and it stayed on the No.1 Billboard chart for 7 weeks before it hit No. 1 on Billboard’s best sellers hit and also stayed on No. 1 Billboard’s country chart for one more week.
