Nearly 7 million people across the country turned out for the second “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump and his administration, marking the largest single-day demonstration against a sitting president in modern history, organizers said.
After golfing Saturday, Trump returned to Mar-a-Lago and fired off several Truth Social posts, including an AI-generated video that appeared to show him wearing a crown, flying a jet, and bombing a crowd of protesters with brown liquid.
Millions of demonstrators joined protests in more than 2,500 cities and towns to stand up to what organizers called Trump’s “authoritarian power grabs.” In June, more than 5 million turned out for the first “No Kings” protests.
In an interview that aired Sunday, Trump told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo that he was “not a king” and floated invoking the Insurrection Act, a centuries-old law that authorizes the president to deploy military forces inside the U.S. to quell rebellion. The law was most recently invoked in 1992.
“Don't forget I can use the Insurrection Act... And that's unquestioned power,” the president warned. Apparently referring to sending troops to U.S. cities as part of his crime crackdown, he said: “I choose not to. I’d rather do this.”
