Watching Elephant Man at David Lynch Disruption Festival 2016
Around 1977-78 Marty Thau asked if I'd like to produce the existing Eraserhead soundtrack for his record label.
He set up a meeting with me and Lynch for when we were in LA. We were staying at the Chateau Marmont.
I was in the room and a knock at the door and it was Lynch. Now someone had told me the Eraserhead director was the star of the film so I didn't recognize this guy. He didn't know what I looked like so we both sat there silently for what seemed a long time until one of us said "Hey are you...?"
It was a very Lynchian moment.
In later years I asked if he remembered. He said he didn't. He released the soundtrack on his own Kuva vähem
