Holy Thursday - the Mystical Supper and Night in Gethsemane

The central act of the Holy Eucharist is established on Holy Thursday, at the Last Supper. As Christ breaks the bread and distributes the wine, He sets in place for all time the act we continue - with varying regularity - two thousand years later. The disciples are shown arrayed around him on the table.

Also on Holy Thursday, Christ prayed alone in Gethsemane - we are reminded again of the watchful and sleeping virgins, who were unable to keep watch.
