The title “Life-Giving Spring” has still greater significance than a mere pool of water. As we know, the source of all healing is Christ. Through His holy Mother, He grants healing of spiritual and physical ailments. Yet more importantly, the Theotokos is the Life-Giving Spring because, through her own flesh, the Savior of the world took human form, humbling Himself even to the point of death on the Cross. It is this eternal healing which we should most celebrate—God become man, so that we may join God in eternal life!
Through the prayers of the most holy Theotokos, Savior save us!

The Spring of Healing takes place on different dates each year. It will take place on Good Friday, April 25, 2025, when Orthodox Christians observe certain traditions and customs. While it's associated with Good Friday in the week leading up to Easter, it's not directly part of the Easter celebrations themselves. In 2025, it will coincide with Good Friday, April 25, due to the fact that Orthodox and Catholic Easter celebrations will align that year.
The Spring of Healing/Feast of the Life-Giving Spring:
This feast day is observed on Bright Friday (the Friday after Orthodox Easter). It commemorates an icon of the Mother of God, known as "The Life-Giving Spring," which is believed to have miraculous healing powers
Orthodox Easter:
In 2025, Orthodox and Catholic Christians will celebrate Easter on the same day, April 20. This is unusual, as typically Orthodox Easter falls on a later date due to the different calendars used by each tradition
Good Friday:
Good Friday is a solemn day in the Christian calendar commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. In 2025, it will fall on April 25, the day after Orthodox Easter
Significance of the Mother of God:
The Spring of Healing is particularly important as it is dedicated to the Mother of God, who is highly venerated in Orthodox Christianity
